The AppTech & Advertising Unit was set up as a new strategic unit after operating in a pilot phase for the last year, proving new business potential, and will be officially organized in March 2025. Since it is a new organization established to discover new growth drivers for Bank Salad, there are high expectations for growth potential organization-wide, and we are proving this potential by enhancing advertising revenue by over 2300% compared to the same period last year by May 2025.
The AppTech & Advertising Unit plans and operates 'immersive experiences where users earn rewards fun'. Rather than a dry AppTech that simply pays off when users click and view ads, we design vibrant AppTech experiences in which users gain not just fun and meaning but also rewards from product experiences. In such AppTech experiences, we connect customers to ads utilizing Bank Salad's unique first-party data to maximize revenues for both customers and advertisers.
1. Creates Bank Salad's daily retention services.
Provides a gamified AppTech experience that encourages users to visit Bank Salad daily and use it repeatedly by assigning a consistent storyline for various in-app behaviors (attendance, content exploration, financial product inquiries, etc.) and designing appropriate rewards. Continuously plans missions and content that lead to habituation and expectations with clear user stories regarding the rewards, and experiments and improves quickly based on user responses. This makes Bank Salad an app that users feel they must check at least once a day.
2. Develops new advertising models utilizing first-party data.
Analyzes user data such as financial MyData and credit information, analyzing the largest genetic testing and health examination data in the country, to discover partnership items that benefit customers and curates partnership benefit information to users at the right time based on each user's behavior history and financial situation. It plans advertising models centered on optimality, considering user benefits and timing, creating a new advertising structure that benefits users, Bank Salad, and partners.
3. Activates Bank Salad services using fun and rewards.
Many people still do not clearly understand the advantages that MyData services can offer or miss financial benefits through data linkage due to vague anxieties. The AppTech Unit motivates users to activate MyData services and manage assets by using immediate rewards and immersion through fun. These tasks aim to enhance users' asset management capabilities and help them enjoy the most powerful financial benefits.
A Data Analyst (AppTech) primarily performs the following tasks:
Designs and grows AppTech experiences that create daily retention through 'fun and rewards' using data.
• Quantifies user value (retention, LTV, retention/churn factors) by combining user behavior data with financial asset data.
• Conducts root cause analysis and hypothesis testing regarding daily retention habituation goals, and presents actionable insights and strategies for improving mission and reward policies.
• Finds the optimum point that 'maintains fun while increasing efficiency' by considering reward economics (payment rates/budgets/limits) and fraud risk.
Designs measurement systems to enable the product team to make fast and accurate decisions, defines key metrics, and leads experiments.
• Designs and implements key metrics that are most important for product growth.
• Designs event logs and measures user experiences.
• Translates qualitative experiences of 'fun and rewards' into measurable metrics and builds metric definitions/dashboards/reports so the team can make decisions in the same language.
• Designs and builds a data mart for improved analysis efficiency.
• Designs and executes A/B tests and verifies the statistical significance of experiment results.
Primarily utilizes the following tech stack (tools):
• Data processing and analysis tools: Snowflake, Metabase, Amplitude
• Languages: Python, SQL
We would like to embark on this journey with those who aspire to such experiences.
• Must have at least 4 years of data analysis experience or equivalent product analysis project experience.
• Experience leading funnel/cohort/retention/segment analysis while handling large-scale data using SQL.
• Requires an understanding or rapid learning of financial data structures to conduct combined analysis with behavioral data.
• Should have a good understanding of A/B testing and hypothesis testing methodologies and practical application experience (metric definitions, experiment design, result interpretation).
• Must have communication skills that influence decision-making while structuring problems based on data and collaborating with various job roles.
Candidates with the following experiences will be preferred.
• Experience in analysis automation, reporting, and statistical modeling using Python, etc., will be advantageous.
• A master's or PhD in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or data mining will be more desirable.
• Product analysis experience in the AppTech/reward/gaming (gamification) domain is a plus.
• Experience creating business/user impact through data analysis or modeling is a bonus.
• Understanding data warehouses (DW) and experience in data mart construction and data pipeline design will be a plus.
• Experience in systematic experiment design (A/B testing, etc.) and leading hypothesis testing based on statistical knowledge is desirable.
