I joined Monymony during its early growth phase and played a key role in scaling our mobile application from launch to over 1.2 million active users. My tenure was marked by rapid learning and a consistent focus on delivering features that enhanced user experience.
The main product of Monymony is Sumone, a mobile app which purpose is to help couple keep an every-day close connection in the digital age.
After registering and connecting as a couple, users receive a daily question about their relationship or partners. By answering the question, they help their little pet (EggMon) grow, as a testament to their connection and love.

Key Contributions:
Core Infrastructure & Early Impact:
- Reworked navigation implementation leveraging react-navigation library. This allowed for a more stable product as well as an easier way to manage scaling (adding new pages, remaking the architecture) and user engagement (nested deep-linking)
- Implemented complete and scalable translation system to streamline adding new languages for international users. This particular feature gave us the opportunity to go global, with 9 languages currently supported
Feature Development & Product Expansion:
- Implemented the first iterations of widgets => keeping track of your partner's answer, as well as counting the day you've been together)
- Built reminder system using local notifications => leverage Notifee to implement and maintain local notification for enhanced user interactions
- Created complete and robust in-app purchase system with simple retry cycle for failed purchases => leveraging react-native-iap (now expo-iap) to allow user to perform in-app purchases as well as a retry cycle to handle possible server or network issues during the purchase process.
