D.Hive is a robotics startup developing the autonomous robot platform ROBOPILOT.
This position is responsible for the mechanical design of the autonomous robot's body, including drive components, sensor mounting, and prototype manufacturing. Basic hardware knowledge related to cable wiring and electrical layout is also utilized. This position allows for direct contribution throughout the entire product launch process in a small team.
Robot Body Mechanical Design
• Design of wheel-moving/quadrupedal robot main frame and chassis (SolidWorks)
• Modular structure design — considering battery replacement, sensor detachment, and ease of maintenance
• Lightweight and rigidity optimization design
• Center of gravity placement and stability review
Sensor and Payload Mounting
• Design of mounting for LiDAR, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors — vibration isolation, ensuring field of view
• Modular design considering payload integration — logistics boxes, robotic arms, etc.
• Design of sensor protective covers and housings
Environmental Resistance Design
• Dust-proof and water-proof design (targeting IP54 or higher)
• Weather-resistant design for outdoor operations
• Thermal management design — heat sinks, ventilation, thermal conduction paths
• Impact and vibration response design
Cable and Electrical Layout Integration
• Connector placement and design for accessibility and assembly convenience
• Cable routing and wiring design inside the robot
• Review of PCB/control board mounting space and heat dissipation layout
• Review of power distribution structure (in collaboration with circuit engineers)
Prototype Manufacturing and Mass Production Preparation
• Prototype manufacturing management — CNC, metal sheet processing, 3D printing, injection, painting
• Managing partner companies and quality control of machining
• DFM/DFA review and mass producibility improvement
• Assembly process design and preparation of work instructions
• BOM preparation and parts standardization
