**Position**
Kaya AI is looking for a **Forward Deployed Engineer** who will operate in Korea. This role is a hybrid of software engineering, customer success, and product management, and is suitable for someone with technical skills and strong client-facing communication abilities. The position will work directly with Kaya's founding engineer.
**Who We're Looking For**
This is not a typical engineering role. You will be central to direct client interaction, problem solving, and product improvement. You are a strong fit if you:
- Are proficient with Python, React, and Next.js, able to rapidly prototype and iterate based on client feedback.
- Are confident in communication and can meet regularly with clients in the Busan area to communicate effectively.
- Have a product-oriented mindset, able to create demos from client insights and clearly convey feedback to the team.
- Are willing to travel domestically (particularly to Busan) and enjoy working on-site to maintain client relationships.
- Have native-level Korean and sufficient English to collaborate with the global Kaya AI team.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Act as Kaya AI's primary technical contact for clients in Korea, making regular on-site visits centered around Busan to ensure project success and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the founding engineer to rapidly develop, demo, and iteratively improve features based on client feedback.
- Work directly with clients to identify pain points, define requirements, and clearly translate these needs to the product and engineering teams.
- Actively participate in product design discussions, leveraging an intuitive understanding of UI/UX.
- Use AI-driven development workflows (GPT, Copilot, Cursor) to increase productivity and rapidly deliver creative solutions.
**First Week Expectations**
We believe the best way to integrate into the team is by solving a real problem right away. In your first week you'll be assigned a client-facing, real task that lets you immediately contribute and demonstrate impact.
**Qualifications**
- **Experience (3–5 years)**: Hands-on experience shipping software built on Python, React, and Next.js to production.
- **Client-facing ability**: Strong communication skills and the confidence to represent Kaya AI in client interactions.
- **Product mindset**: Ability to quickly understand requirements, build prototypes, and iterate based on feedback.
- **Language skills**: Native-level Korean and working-level English for collaboration.
- **AI fluency**: Familiarity with modern AI tools and workflows and the ability to actively use them.
**Preferred**
- Experience or interest in construction, supply chain, procurement, or related industries.
**Working Environment**
Kaya AI is remote-first and values flexibility and autonomy. However, this role involves important face-to-face interaction with clients in Korea—especially in Busan—so travel and on-site visits are a meaningful and valuable part of the role.

- You have strong English proficiency to communicate effectively with the broader Kaya AI team, alongside your native Korean fluency.
**Your Role & Responsibilities**
- Serve as Kaya AI's primary technical point of contact for clients in Korea, regularly traveling to Busan to ensure successful project implementation and customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with the founding engineer to rapidly build, demo, and iterate on product features based on direct client insights.
- Collaborate actively with clients to identify pain points, define requirements, and translate these needs clearly back to the product and engineering teams.
- Participate actively in product design discussions, leveraging your intuitive understanding of UI/UX to guide product enhancements.
- Use AI-driven engineering workflows (GPTs, Copilot, Cursor) to improve productivity, solve challenging problems, and deliver innovative solutions quickly.

- **Language Proficiency**: Native-level Korean proficiency and working proficiency in English.
- **AI-Forward Thinking**: Familiarity with and active use of AI-enhanced workflows, keeping abreast of the latest industry tools and trends.
